2010 Inspiration

I am going to deviate from raw food today to share with you some thoughts for the new year.

We are approaching the end of the year, and the end of a decade. I know for many, myself included, 2009 was one of the most challenging years I have ever faced. I found myself living in a state of survival and fear. So many things changed, so many of those felt out of my control. I hunkered down and rode out the storm.

The day after Christmas, I woke up and realized that I no longer was willing to live in the survival mode. My dear friend, Amy Oscar and I were having a brief conversation about this and it came to me, my new motto and intention for 2010.  Thrive, don’t merely survive in 2010.

We have a little time left before 2010 is here. I am going to that time to examine my life, decide what I want it to be and set my intentions to make it so. I no longer wish to be at the whim of the universe, I intent to co-create with it. It is the start of a new decade, a perfect time to do the work.

This will require some self-evaluation and vision work. I welcome the challenge and invite you to join me! Take out a big piece of paper and write “my life” in the center. Then, start adding things as they come to you around the center. See how the thoughts connect up and what bridges together. Just let it flow, don’t over think it. You will be surprised at how easily things start to come to you. This is called a mind map.

You can make a mind map for your life. Start broad and then if you like, take the different categories that you come up with and turn each of those into it’s own map. Once you see your direction, you can figure out your intentions. I would love to hear what you come up with!

Loved this post…this year, more than any other, I’m feeling the need to relish the new year and all it has to offer, and to really get out there and make something of each and every day (and to make some major leaps of faith!)
