News from the Rawmazing Front!

I woke to the sound of rain of the roof. Real rain. For some of you, that might not be a big deal. But when you have been in the deep freeze for months, it is a beautiful sound.

I have always loved the seasons in Minnesota. The difference, the diversity. The most impressive is the transformation from winter into spring. We venture into winter early here. By October, sweaters are out and snow can be on the ground. It is long, dark and cold. Day after day of frozen beauty that goes on and on and on. Challenging for people on a raw food diet. We are normally out of the woods by April, but can still have snow and cold even then.

Just when you think it will never end, the sun comes out, the temperature warms and the snow starts to melt. I always refer to this as the earth waking up. There is a moment, every year that takes my breath away. It is when the peepers (frogs) wake up. We go from complete silence to deafening noise in a moment. But it is only March and the peepers are still fast asleep. It’s early, we could still get a lot of snow. But today it is raining, and that reminds me that spring will eventually be here.

I am excited for spring and I am also excited to tell you about the fun developments happening around the Rawmazing Raw Food site. The first cookbook, a dessert cookbook is due out in April. I have been working all hours to bring you a cookbook filled with easy, gourmet recipes full of instructional pictures and information. Each recipe will be like taking a mini class! We are taking raw food dessert to a new level. Super healthy treats that look like they came out of a french pastry case!

Second, I am going to be having my first give away contest! I am hoping to have everything ready in a few days. The people over at TSM Dehydrators are providing us with their D5 dehydrator. If you have read the posts about dehydrators, you know that I love the TSM Dehydrators for preparing my raw food recipes. They are quiet, made from stainless steel and do a great job dehydrating. The dehydrator retails for just under 300.00! Make sure you tune in and don’t miss the contest.

Which brings me to the last piece of news. The site is moving to new servers. It should take place in the next few days so bear with us. Hopefully there won’t be any glitches with the move. It is an exciting move as we have outgrown our current servers! As soon as the move is done, the contest will start.

I continue to add pictures daily to the 365 photo challenge. It is a challenge at times but I love doing it. If you haven’t checked out Challenge 21, head on over and take a peek. I did a 21 day full raw challenge in the middle of the winter when the days were long and the temps were below zero. Every day is filled with a tip. I continued for 31 days, took a few days off and now I am running about 90%. I like 100% better.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of you for your wonderful comments and emails. You make my day. A lot of love and hours go into this site and it is heart warming to know that you are enjoying andΒ  benefiting from it. Keep the comments coming!!

Just to be clear…there isn’t going to be a new site…I actually really love this one. πŸ™‚ We switched to new servers. So, we can handle the higher volume of traffic. So glad you are here!!

    Hi,
I’ve been away for awhile, but glad to see and hear about the good news. I just love this site and am positive the new one will be even better. In fact, I think this is the BEST site I’ve ever come across in my search for recipes and other raw fooders’ comments. Please keep it up. I check in at least 3 times a week.
    Best wishes moving forward!

Hi Susan, I stumbled upon your site recently and have been amazed by everything I see. The pictures, the recipes, everything! We love to eat healthy and natural and I used to think we eat a lot of raw food. You opened up an entire new world of so many more possibilities for us. Have been checking your posts the moment they appear on my reader πŸ™‚ I’ve been considering purchasing a dehydrator ever since then so I checked out a dehydrator cookbook from the library and have been reading it.

I didn’t mean to make my comment soo long πŸ™‚ Keep up the awesome work. You have another follower.

Hi Susan- This is such a great website, there is so much happy life force bubbling up, including all the commenters! Thanks for this……..I am about 5 days raw due to feeling ‘up against the wall’ recently with my health. Hey, whatever it takes, it’s all good. I’ve been around 70% raw for many years, now 56, and have a dual foodie personality that likes to try all the new restaurants and eat lots of different things………..along with a raw food enthusiast part. And I have a lot of sensitivities to foods so the indulgent eating takes its toll…….I just can’t believe how great I feel, just made a huge juice and am loving it, with kale, celery, nappa, carrot, watercress, beet, apple………yummy! I seriously was feeling like I was going to have a stroke or something recently but can feel I have lifted myself up out of the ditch!! And will stay here, thank you all……..(don’t tell me to go have an mri either, LOL)
