Farmers Market and Raw Food
It is my favorite time of the year to go to the farmer’s market. Even though it was the perfect morning to sleep in a bit, it was also my favorite type of day to go to the farmer’s market. A good chill was in the air and the sky was overcast. I pulled one of my big, warm sweaters and headed over. The Minneapolis Farmer’s Market was my destination of choice this morning.
I know I have said it before, but I absolutely love the farmer’s market. So bustling with energy, wonderful smells, and interesting people. Perusing the isles, this morning, I left the camera at home. I was on a mission. Find veggies at great prices.
It is a wonderful time to be shopping the market. There are so many different fruits and vegetables available. Today’s haul included:
Late crop raspberries, carrots, and organic face cream…
Brussels sprouts…
white Beets…
lemons and a little sage…
rosemary and parsnips…
two huge daikon radishes…
some thyme…
a bunch of kale…
and finally, a bunch of bok choy.
Unbelievably I got all of this for under 25.00. That included the 10.00 for the face cream and the raspberries which were the second most expensive at 5.00. Most everything was between 1-2 dollars a bunch. Now I am off to the kitchen to start whipping up some wonderful raw food recipes!
