Monday Give Away: UrthBag!

Monica Ralli, founder of UrthBags, has sent us this beautiful “Angelina” recycled magazine handbag for our Monday give away! UrthBags are the Eco-Chic handbags made with the health of the planet in mind. I have one of these little beauties sitting on the kitchen table, and believe me, it is fantastic.

Monica has always tried to live a sustainable life by recycling everything possible, shopping locally at farmers markets, avoiding toxic chemicals by choosing organic, etc.  Looking in her closet one evening filled with handbags, purses, totes, gym bags, etc., She thought to herself, why couldn’t these same, stylish designs be made from salvaged, recycled & discarded materials?   After much researching, sourcing materials, locating and organizing women’s groups, she created UrthBags Eco-Chic Handbags.

Monica also follows a predominantly raw diet and has for over 20 years. She strongly advocate consuming sustainable, fresh food diet that is as close to its natural state as possible. Sisterhood!

This beautiful bag’s retail value is 72.00. Thank you Monica!

I’ve been doing a lot more composting these days, too. In face, my kids always keep me on my toes and make sure I am composting. I also make sure to use environmentally friendly products in the home..I also bring re-usable shopping bags to the grocery store.

Simple things like keeping things unplugged that do not require constant energy, using the grocery stores nearby and rooting through their minimal but ever growing organic food selection. Our Farmers market is closed for the year. Using earth friendly cleaning product for my home and myself. Vinegar, Baking Soda, Soap Nuts are amazing.

Keeping our home safe by using EFFECTIVE green, earth friendly household items on my skin and in my bathroom, shower, kitchen, laundry and when cleaning. It makes such a difference in the atmosphere and air of our home.

I love to repurpose old clothing into bags and quilts. We compost in the backyard and grow our own herbs. I also participate in a produce co-op and purchase my raw milk and honey locally. That is one cute bag!

I your recipes are fantastic and I appreciate your willingness to share freely with us.
Being a raw foodie is really complicated in the beginng, not everybody lives in a place where there are raw food restaurants for 3 meals a day. Nor can most people afford this habit.
Eating just salads is not really susatianable for most people switching over.
This makes it fun and delicious. Thank you

I buy less, use, less, eat less, consume raw foods and compost the peals, or use pulp for muffins and cakes.. There is nothing that is not re-used.. even cloths I give to people who need them and also do exchanges with friends.. It is fun and fun way to recycle cloths, purses, shoes etc…. Aum Shanti

My favorite way to be green lately has been giving our wheatgrass soil/roots/hulls and whatnot to my buddy from work to use as compost in his garden. He says the wheatgrass “waste” is really helping the taste and look of veggies from his urban garden.

I try to be more green by tending to my large veggie garden. I get such joy from growing things and tacking care of the plants. Very rewarding, and all my hard work makes the veggies taste that much better!

Over the summer I found a produce co-op and they deliver of fresh, locally grown, produce to my home on Wednesdays.
