If you have been reading along, you know that I have been inspired by the raw oats that I found. I love oatmeal raisin cookies so why not try a raw food version? Using the raw flaked oats as the base, I also added raw oat flour. Marty, of Sunrise Flour Mill also hand grinds flour from the organic, unprocessed oat groats. I am still coveting my own mill. Oats and apples are the main ingredients in these cookies. A touch of cinnamon completes them. Honestly, these turned out so good I had trouble waiting for them to dehydrate! If you have kids, they will love them. And you can know that you are giving them something full of healthy ingredients. You are not going to believe that these are raw. You can order the raw flaked oats and oat flour from Sunrise Flour Mill.
Cinnamon Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
- 2 C Raw Flaked Oats
- 1 C Raw Oat Flour
- 1 C Apple Puree
- 1/2 C Coconut Oil
- 1/4 C Agave
- 1 T Cinnamon
- 1 C Raisins
To make the apple puree: quarter and core 3 medium apples. Leave the peel on. Place in food processor and process until pureed. Place Oats and Oat Flour in bowl. Mix together. Mix in remaining ingredients in order. Drop in mounds on teflex sheets. Flatten slightly. Place in dehydrator for 45 minutes at 145, remove from teflex sheets and place on screen. Continue dehydrating at 116 for 6 to 8 hours or until almost dry.

Beautiful! And inspiring, as always.
Wow these look to die for!
I recently made some
but my oats would technically be uncooked, but not truly “raw” b/c I havent sourced them or tried but your version looks amazing!
Incredibly delicious and wholesome! I love oatmeal.
Yummy!
looks good. is there some cranberrys or raisins… it looks like…
No…the red flakes are the the apple skins….
YUM! ;p Must get raw oat flakes!!
Ok from my research that I’ve done for the raw oats, I can make raw oat flour by getting some Groats and putting them in a coffee grinder to make the flour. Is that right? Next what about raw flaked oats where do i get those and how do I know they are raw?
If you look above, I have included a link to Sunrise Flour Mills. You can get organic, raw flour and flaked oats there. The coffee grinder will work better than a high speed blender but I order my flour from Sunrise because it has a consistency that I cannot achieve at home. They do have flakers and flour mills for sale, also.
Do you think I can use all oatmeal flour vs. oat flakes?
I think it would really change the texture but you can always try…
what website can I buy raw oat flour?
There are two links in the post to Sunrise Flour Mill. See above.
Susan,
I made these cookies for my family today.. and both of my kids just ate the whole batch before they dehydrated completely. They where really yummy!! Thank you for the recipe. Do you have a chocolate chip cookie recipe.. do you think I can replace the raisins with chocolate nibs?
Thanks again!!
Jessie
You could try, but taste them first to see if you like the taste with the other ingredients. Might work!
Just made these yesterday. had to alter it a bit. All I had was quick oat and no raisins. they tastes ok. the quick oats broke down so it was like using all oat flour. I hope to try again with the right ingredients:)
Yes…quick oats are completely different that the flaked oats. They have been much more processed so I can see why you had a problem.
This is great! I am new to the raw food diet. I am only a month in and was looking for something like this. I was just telling my daughter that we could probable make oatmeal cookies with raw oats, raisins. agave, and cinnamon. I was wondering how it would work and if they would stay together, this helps me so much. Thanks!
