    Hi there,
I’m looking for a cheeze cake (chocolate-type) recipe WITHOUT coconut (oil, product of any kind).
Any suggestions for what I can use instead and if so, amounts (ie 1 C ___ = 1 C coconut oil)?
    Thanks a ton!

Was just looking for the exact same thing! I’m on a “Forks Over Knives”, plant-based, whole-food diet which means vegan and no refined flour, no refined sugar, and no refined oil. (Look up the documentary on Netflix and you’ll see exactly why someone would want to eat this way. haha) Found this one, and while I’m not crazy about the sugar content and might decrease the amount of maple syrup I would use, there is no oil – coconut or cacao butter/oil or otherwise – in it.

The one thing with these recipes is that most rely on the high melt temp power of coconut oil to keep things solidified at room temp. Without it, you’d need to keep it cold or things would start getting a little soft and runny.

Thinking about it, MAYBE there is a solution though – add a gel-ifying ingredient like ground flax, chia, or agar? Would change the texture slightly, but maybe it would be okay… I’ll have to give it a try!

That is a hard one as the coconut oil sets the cake. I don’t currently have a substitution for that one. Maybe raw cacao butter but you would have to experiment.

    Good Morning Susan

Do you have a recipe for Strawberry Pie, or cheesecake?
Also one for lemon truffle balls I was in Victoria at a raw café & had a lemon ball that just melted in my mouth unfortunately they would not give me their recipe for them. They were so yummy.
    Thanks so much.
